I went into this series with a big book hangover. I loved the description and the cover art a lot. I am myself disabled and I loved the concept of dragons also being shunned or discarded for their bodily failings. Within the first few chapters I knew the author could write but I wasn’t completely hooked until chapter 6!! This author is truly gifted. I love the depth of story, plot, characters, world, basically everything!! I was so hooked I read for hours!! Very excited for book 2!!

Very fun reading. Who doesn’t love fantasy that includes dragons? My only critism is grammatical: why do so many authors (and editors, apparently!) make the “I” or “me” error when it comes to the person speaking receiving the action of the verb, whether directly or indirectly? Example: “What would you have Ash and I do?” should be “What would you have Ash and me do?” All it takes is to ask if it would sound right if Ash were not involved. Would you say “What would you have I do?”? Of course not. I have noticed this grating error in too many books written by up and coming young authors. Maybe they need to go back to school.

I read through the sample, thinking maybe it would be ok, and eventually I’d buy it after reading through a few other books I have waiting…
I’m halfway through after downloading it on Sunday morning, and I worked Sunday and I was nearly late to work, and WAS late returning from my lunch break because I didn’t want to stop reading.
Great book, characters that you can really connect with, and excellent settings. I really can’t wait for more.
