Winter. War. Chaos.
As Elder turns against Elder and riders clash, Holt and Ash fight to protect the people of the Fae Forest as Thrall seeks to blight every creature within it. On the front lines their only real aid comes from Holt’s new lunar blade, and a dangerous new ally whose claws cut both ways.
In the west, Athra and Risalia have dragged Talia into war. She can’t bring peace without pain; told she can’t be a rider and a queen; torn beyond duty and her dream beyond the dream. There are no good options, not without becoming the monster her enemies claim her to be.
Rake and Osric have missions of their own, one to right their past, the other to confront it. Both will step out of the known world, to the Green Sea of the east and beyond the desert’s end; both hunted by new scourge of immense power and skill.
Few will survive.
The reckoning has come.

Awesome continuation to a great series. Can’t wait for the next, but sadly I’ll have to. Ash and Holt, Rake, Talia, and Osric are all great characters with fantastic story lines. I was totally engrossed from beginning to end.
Michelle Meek –
Came in perfect shape I have read the first two books I can’t wait to get the third and jump into it! By far one of the best series I’ve read to date!
Kindle Customer –
Honestly, can a series really be this good and interesting? I think not! Cannot wait for the final installment!
Mom –
The writing was excellent. The story relatable in many ways. The characters were intriguing and rich. I await the last book in the series. Hopefully the good guys win!
John Martin –
There is no end. No end to the pain. No end to the suffering. No end to the fighting. No end to the fatigue. No end to the remorse. No end to the scourge.
No end to how far Osric must go to fix the cracks in his soul. To find the answers to his past and become worthy of Nox. No end to where Rake must go, to bear the truth on how he failed, to repair the damage to his soul and bring back Elya.
No end to how much fighting Talia must endure to ensure Feorlen is free. To ensure that the New Order can continue fighting the scourge and make a difference. No end to what Holt and Ash must do defending the Eastern grove, Coedhin, and the Fae forest from the scourge. No end to what they must do on their pursuit of becoming a Lord.
The growth of our cast of characters in Reckoning is phenomenal. Osric delving into his past. Chasing a lost flame. Was what he thought was there real? Will she know or remember him? Can he save her and her people from an impending war? What would he do to save them, and protect his dragon Nox?
Rake chasing memories across the east trying to figure out what went wrong with his attempt in going beyond a Lord. Being pursued by a scourge unlike anything he’s seen before. Remembering Friez before it fell. Remembering his lost dragon hold. Remembering Elya and things he’d forgotten, including who he was before the accident.
Holt and Ash fighting non stop from wave after unending wave of scourge. Fighting so much that he even loses he restraint and kills a rogue rider of Thrall’s with unbridled rage. Chasing the truth of who he and Ash are meant to be while strengthening their bond as the work toward their next step and become Lords.
The action is intense. And there is no rest. There is no end. You won’t want to put this down. And you won’t want it to end. But it does. And you won’t believe it has or what has transpired. This book is phenomenal and a pure joy to read.
Silver Trinket –
This was probably my favorite installment of the series so far.
Not only does Miller continue to develop his previously written characters in new and strong ways as well as continuing to explore stakes that have existed since the first book, he introduced new characters to round out the world and further explore the rich lore he has created.
Stakes deepen in this novel and expand on the threats introduced previously. I appreciate the multiple POV as it allows for the further development and exploration of the rich lore of the world presented. I found myself growing attached even to characters who hadn’t grabbed me in previous books.
I appreciate the complexity that Miller uses to write his characters, exploring ideas of grey morality as well as questions of what is right in the moment versus long term as well as personal perception of what is right to begin with.
This book not only hit on the lore beats I absolutely adore but also had plenty of action and intrigue, focusing on shifting alliances as well as threats both old and new.
Sabrina Chan –
I couldn’t put this book down, knowing that I have no other opportunity to continuously read once my vacation is over.
The depth of character development and how the relationship between Dragons and Riders truly captivates the core of human relationships. Definitely makes me wish I could have a dragon of my own. I can’t wait for the final book.
SterMa –
Solid build up on the previous foundations. Good themes.
Amazon Customer –
My favorite part of the series so far has been the character arcs and the development of magic that miller is able to put into his books and reckoning did not disappoint. The way that Miller is able to connect you with the characters and have you truly feel how they are feeling in that moment is truly incredible and is so extremely prominent in the views of Holt, Osric and Rake. Between Holt’s trauma ark and Osric, and Rake’s independent soul discovery arcs, you truly get to know these characters and what is going on in their minds. We also get an insane look into the power level of paragons with Nehveh and Vald. Especially with Vald, as you see him progress through his journey beyond the final boundary. There is, of course, one of my favorite parts of each book, in abaranth’s new discoveries of magic, and Holt and Ash, consistently being my favorite POV, though I have to say reading this book more than any other, I found myself itching to get back to all of the point of views at some point in the book, not just Holt and Ash’s.
What this book does that no other has is just how action-packed it is, and not in a good guys always win kind of way. From nearly start to finish this book has a world that is in constant turmoil. The forces of evil and darkness are rising up in a way that this world hasn’t seen before, and the good guys are struggling to even just stay alive. Between the multitude of povs, we get a idea of just how crazy the world is right now, we see the storm flight from Vald’s point of view, the kingdoms as a whole from Talia’s, the main battle within the forests from Holt’s, the remainder of the order from Nehveh’s, and the armies of thrall from the speaker. It was honestly insane and I loved every second of it. The ending of the book tied everything up in a nice neat bow while still leaving it so that the fifth book in the series can honestly go in any direction and it will make perfect sense. This is genuinely one of my favorite series right now.

From the very first chapter, the stakes are higher, the conflicts are deper, and the twists hit harder. The author somehow manages to balance explosive battles with powerful character developments — every victory feel earned and every loss cuts deep.

Reckoning hits like a storm you didn’t see coming. The song builds tension from the first note, layering emotion over a driving beat that feels urgent and personal. Lyricaly, it explores confrontation with others, with the past, or with oneself and that theme gives it a raw, relatable eddge. The chorus especially feels cathartic, almost like a release after long-held frustration. It’s the kind of track that stays with you after it ends.

Reckoning feels like a storm gathering in slow motion. The production builds tension layer by layer, pulling the listtener into an emotional face-off that’s impossible to ignore. The lyrics carry themes of consequences, inner conflict, and facing hard truths. There’s a rawness in the vocal delivery that makes it hit even harder like someone finally saying what they’ve held back for years. Overall, it’s dramatic, brooding, and powerfull a song that lingers long afterthe final note.

It ties up storylines with satisfying complexity, though it’s not for the faint-hearted. A solid, powerful finish for fans of grim, epic fantasy.

This song has a nice melody and a good overall vibe. The music is catchy, and the lyrics are meaningful and easy to understand. The singer’s voice fits the mood of the song, which makes it enjoyable to listen to. However, some parts feel a little repetitive. Overall, it’s a good song that I would listen to again.

fatimashk144 –
Yes or No Yes
(Lyrics, beat, vibe, voice, mood — tell us anything 👀🎶) Amazing
The penultimate volume cranks the war‑to‑the‑brink dial. Holt & Ash defend the Fae Forest with a new lunar blade, Talia juggles queen‑duties and rider dreams, and Rake + Osric head east on personal redemption quests. Miller spreads the story over 4‑plus POVs, delivering near‑constant battles, fresh magic (Predators, Dragon Soul) and darker character beats. Readers praise the character growth and emotional payoff, but the sheer number of perspectives can feel jarring compared to the tighter first books
Bottom line: if you love sprawling dragon‑rider epic fantasy with moral grayness, it’s a satisfying, action‑heavy ride—just expect a busier narrative and a cliff‑h

I just finished *Reckoning* the fourth book in the Songs of Chaos series, and I really enjoyed it. The stakes feel much higher in this one and the story keeps getting more intense as it goes on. I liked how the book mixes big battles with emotional moments that actually make you care about what’s happening. The characters have grown a lot since the earlier books, which made their struggles feel more real. A few twists caught me off guard, which I appreciated. The dragons and worldbuilding also felt even more expanded here. Overall, it was an exciting read and a solid continuation of the series.

Finale sticks the landing—sergeant Tess Marcus wages guerrilla war against the kraken‑god bleeding into Vancouver. Boucher balances squad‑level grit with cosmic creep, and Tess’s PTSD feels earned, not set‑dressing. The cult politics pay off, magic system stays cost‑heavy, and the last 50 pages are relentless. Readers note bittersweet closure and actual consequences. Finish‑the‑series territory; better after books 1‑3, obviously, but worth the grim journey.
